Remote desktop is a program that allows a user to connect to a computer in another location. This is one of the components of Microsoft Windows that allows a user to take control of a remote computer or virtual machine over a network connection.


Configure Windows


To connect to a remote computer, that computer must be turned on, 

  1. It must have a network connection, 
  2. Remote Desktop must be enabled, you must have network access to the remote computer (this could be through the Internet), 
  3. You must have permission to connect (make sure Remote Desktop connections are allowed through its firewall).
  4. If you're user account doesn't require a password to sign in, you'll need to add a password before you're allowed to start a connection with a remote computer.


To enable remote connections on the computer
  • right click on Computer and then click on Properties.
  • click Remote settings


  • Select the third one and click Apply and then Ok


To allow Remote Desktop connections through a Windows Firewall 
  • click Start and select Control Panel.
  • Click System and Security.
  • Click Allow a program through Windows Firewall under Windows Firewall
  • Click Change settings and then check the box next to Remote Desktop.

  • Click OK to save the changes.
To set a password for your user account
  • Click Start and select Control Panel.
  • Click User Accounts
  • Select Change your Windows Password under User Accounts.

  • Click Create a password for your account and follow the instructions on the screen.

Configure Android Mobile

  • Download Microsoft Remote Desktop from here
  • Click on add (+) on top right corner. then click on Desktop

  • Type IP address (Private or Public IP address)
Note: Public IP address is issued by your ISP, and your router issues private (or internal) IP addresses to each network device inside your network.
  • Click SAVE
  • Now click on the IP address you saved then type Remote Computer username and password.
  • Click CONNECT.
How to Find IP address
Private IP address
  • Press Window+R (open run dialog) and type cmd then press Enter
  • A command line window will open. now type ipconfig and press enter.
  • You'll see a bunch of information, but the line you want to look for is "IPv4 Address"
